Costume proyect: TABALUGA

The last 2 months before leaving to my well deserved summer pause I worked in my studio "Planeta propio", together with 2 combatants of tailoring: Marie Helene Kügler (Marilene D´Sastre) and Blanca Cabrera (Recollage) on the costumes of a reproduction of " Tabaluga" - a well known german musical.

It is the story of a little dragon called Tabaluga who is travelling around trying to understand the passing of time.
On his journey he meets different creatures that help him to understand!

The musical will be presented during this summer in a hotel chain with hotels all over europe, two of them in Andalucia.

So we spent our time surrounded by different materials: fabrics, bobbins, foam material, glew, sequins and many more to design, interprete and sew about 40 different charecters like bees, flies, delphins, a giant snowman, a magician and much more.

It was a hard job ( because of a tight schedule and sevillian summer tempratures over 40 degrees) but also a funny and instructive expierience and the three of us are very happy with the result.

I recommend listening to any Miriam Makeba song or album while watching the pictures - her sound accompanied us while sewing nearly every day!

Enjoy the photos!
