Again its Springtime and Summer is near!
The perfect moment to take off the heavy and grey winterwear and let colours reign again.
Keeping on to my style, Lavique´s NEW COLLECTION spring/summer 2014 is bringing you back old panache to transform them in authentic and modern vintagewear!
The inspiration of this years collection is coming straight from the Golden Twenties and the revolution of Womens Swimwear.
As one can imagine it was a real scandal when the first models of slim fitted swimming-dresses and so called beach-pyjamas were introduced to the current society.
After a long decade of corsets and complex dresses abounded in fabrics, Anette Kellerman, an austrailian swimmer and one of the first women that presented herself in a bodyfitted swimsuit provoced an authentic scandal and even was arrested wearing this first, figure hugging swimsuit.
10 years later, the 16th of May 1916 the first bathing suit day was held on Madison Square Garden and since that time nobody could stop the huge wave of Fashion and Beachwear passing by the different decades and the different influences each era left in patterns, colours and styles.
For me this was a story worth for beeing picked up and re-interpreted for present days!
Revolution in Fashion caused by women is a really interesting and inspiring issue!
In my research I found out that the previously mentioned Anette Kellerman also formed part of one of the first groups of synchronized swimming formations which was called: AQUABELLE – the perfect name for this happy, fresh, fancy and beautiful NEW COLLECTION!
